Handprint Leprechaun
This Handprint Leprechaun is a fun St. Patrick’s Day craft for kids and makes a cute classroom display. Have each child create their own leprechaun to decorate a school bulletin board, hallway, or classroom wall. When the holiday is over, they can take their little leprechaun home to share with family.
This simple craft is great for preschool, kindergarten, and elementary classroom activities. It also gives kids a chance to practice tracing, cutting, and coloring skills.

Supplies
- Leprechaun face printable in color or black and white
- Pencil or marker
- Scissors
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils if using the black and white version
Instructions
- Print the leprechaun face template.
- If you are using the black and white version, color it before cutting.
- Place your hand over the printed hat with your three middle fingers held together.
- Spread your thumb and pinky out to the sides. These will become the leprechaun’s ears.
- Trace around the bottom of your hand and around your thumb and pinky.
- Cut out the finished handprint leprechaun.

Teacher Friendly Educational Extension
This easy craft works well for St. Patrick’s Day classroom activities and bulletin board displays. Teachers can invite students to write their name on the back or add a short sentence about what they would find at the end of a rainbow. This is also a fun way to talk about holiday traditions, fine motor skills, and creative self-expression.
