Our Autumn Crossword Puzzle is a great way for kids to expand their vocabulary. Learning through crosswords is a fun way to help kids look forward to the English language and its meanings.

Trivia:

Autumn and fall are used interchangeably as words for the season between summer and winter. Both are used in American and British English, but fall occurs more often in American English. Autumn is considered the more formal name for the season. Source: Merriam Webster – Is It ‘Autumn’ or ‘Fall’?

Supplies

• White Paper
• Pen or Pencil
• Crayons, Markers or Colored Pencils

Instructions

1. Print out a crossword for each child
2. Set them at a comfortable table with their favorite coloring medium and turn them loose. Let them puzzle out as much as they can by themselves before you step in.
3. When the “work” is done encourage them to color the rest of the page so it stands out when you post it on the fridge.
