Handprint Mask For Mardi Gras

Take a kid and a handprint and think about Mardi Gras and you come up with a Handprint Mask for Mardi Gras. It’s fun to make and fun to play king or queen of the parade for Mardi Gras.

Trivia: Mardi Gras means Fat Tuesday and is the last day people are supposed to eat rich foods before the onset of Lent in the Christian religion.  It is also known as Shrove Tuesday.

Construction paper or cardstock
Hole punch

To make this Handprint Mask for Mardi Gras, trace your hand onto two different colored papers and cut out.  Cardstock is stiffer than construction paper and may hold up better.

Cut a hole in the middle for the eyes to see.

Using the picture as a reference, glue them together and decorate. This mask was decorated with dots created with a hole punch.

Paste a chopstick at the back and your handprint face mask is done!
