They set out gifts of foods to please the spirits, and as time wore on, people would dress in scary costumes in exchange for treats themselves — a practice called “mumming,” which is similar to today’s trick-or-treating.   • Ghost Pattern
  • Tissue Paper: Black and White
  • Scissors
  • White Glue
  • Black Pipe Cleaner or Ribbon
  1. Print the Ghost pattern below.
  2. Cut out the outline.
  3.  Cut tissue paper into 2″ pieces and crumple into a tight ball.
  4. Dip ball in white glue and place on pattern.
  5. Twist pipe cleaner or ribbon to make a loop and glue to the back of the ghost.

You can also make a Tissue Paper Black Cat to add to your Halloween decorations.
