Long Lasting Sand Castles
Long Lasting Sand Castles make this fun summertime activity even more rewarding. Kids creative sand projects can last long after the hot weather has turned cold and even be turned into candles.
3 Cups Hot Water
4 Cups Sand
2 Cups Cornstarch
1 Tblsp plus 1 Tsp Cream of Tartar
Large Sauce Pan
In a large sauce pan mix cornstarch and cream of tartar. Stir in hot water. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until water is absorbed and mixture is too stiff to stir
Cool mixture until it can be handled.
Use flexible molds for best results, or molds coated with vasoline. You can also scult with your hads.
To make a candle insert a wick and mold around it.
To store the Sand Dough, store in air tight container.
These projects are created by Terri, Betty, Jamie or one of the talented staff members at MakingFriends.com. They have been created exclusively for publication on FreeKidsCrafts.com with supplies you'll be able to find around your house.
