  5. Print the sun face pattern on yellow paper and cut it out.
  6. Glue the face in the center of the paper fan circle.

Fun Facts

The sun is a star, and it is the closest star to Earth. It gives us the heat and light needed for plants to grow and for life to thrive on our planet.

Even though it looks smaller than some things in the sky, the sun is actually enormous. More than one million Earths could fit inside it.

Patterns, Templates and Printables

Teacher Friendly Educational Extension

This summer craft works well as a classroom activity for learning about space, weather, and seasons. Teachers can pair it with a simple lesson about how the sun helps plants grow and why sunlight is important for life on Earth.

Children can also practice counting by tracking how many folds they make in each paper fan. For a writing extension, ask kids to finish the sentence, “The sun helps us by…” and display their answers with the finished craft.
