Fun Facts
St. Patrick’s Day parades have been celebrated for hundreds of years. One of the earliest recorded St. Patrick’s Day parades took place in St. Augustine, Florida, in 1601. Later, Irish soldiers and immigrants helped make parades a popular tradition in cities like Boston and New York.
Today, many people celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by wearing green, enjoying festive foods, and joining community parades and events.

With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, I needed something fun, easy, and festive to do with my kids—and this little St. Patty’s Day hat totally hits the mark. I love that it doesn’t require any fancy materials—just basic stuff most of us already have around the house like paper, glue, and scissors.
The instructions were super clear, which is a big deal when you’re trying to wrangle excited little ones while also reading a tutorial. Plus, it’s actually cute enough that the kids were excited to wear their hats around the house afterwards (and I may or may not have snapped about a dozen photos). It’s also perfect for classroom or daycare crafts—simple, colorful, and not too messy.
I also liked how the article added that little suggestion to personalize the hats—one of my kids drew a shamrock and the other made a tiny rainbow to stick on theirs. Love the creative freedom!
If you’ve got young ones at home and want to get into the St. Paddy’s Day spirit without a ton of prep or clean-up, this is a winner. Festive, fun, and easy—what more can you ask for?
