Before you throw away all those good pieces of “junk”, look at what was used to make Boris The Bull. We have a bag in our supply closet for recyclable items that may be perfect for the next craft project.

Supplies

2 Toilet paper tubes
Plastic cookie container
Empty cardboard cereal box
Masking tape for customizing
Coloring supplies or paint

Instructions

Tape up your container!
You can find these cube-like containers at bulk food warehouses or grocery stores… they usually hold lots of cookies or candy. If you can’t find one, look around for a similar square or rectangular plastic container. I began by covering mine with a layer of masking tape, my favorite stuff! I also covered Boris’s nose.

You don’t have to use tape. You can just paint Boris with paint you might find at home or in the classroom.
Make eyes, horns, feet and some ears!

I cut my TP tubes in half, and positioned them at the base of Boris for his feet so I could tape them on later.

I wadded up some tape into little balls and made Boris some eyes and stuck them on.

Boris needed some horns and ears too, so I drew these on a piece of cardboard in a shape that I liked, and cut them out. You can make yours as big and goofy as you want.

Add Boris’s feet, ears and horns!
I next taped the TP tubes to Boris’s body so he could stand up.

I then taped on the horns and ears I cut out to his head. Boris is starting to look good!

Color Boris!
Now it’s time to customize Boris. I colored him with a black marker, but you can use paint or anything you can find. I colored his ears a bright pink, and added two oval pieces of tape for Boris’s nostrils, and colored them too.

Boris looked hungry so i rolled up some green tape into little grass pieces, but you can use paper and color it green if you’d like. Or you can use real grass!

I colored his eyeballs black and stuck them back on his head on top of two circles of white tape.

For cody’s patches, I added white pieces of tape I cut out, but you can just draw them on or attach pieces of white paper you cut out.

Finish Boris!
VOILA! Boris the Bull! You can do all sorts of things to customize Boris, so look around for fun things to add, like a tail!
