Add this Frankenstein Decoration to your collection that you bring out every year to enjoy. It only takes a few materials and can be completed in a short time. Get the teens in your house involved in the decorating and they will want to share the Halloween festivities with you.

Supplies

Small round jar from the dollar store
Green paint
Black paint
Black sharpie
Googly eyes
Sponge paint brush
Regular paint brush
Glue gun.

Instructions

First, give the jar a relatively thin coat of green paint. (I’ll tell you in a moment why you want it to be thin-ish.)

Let it dry. Because it’s a thin coat, it won’t take very long.

Add black paint around the rim for Frankie’s black hair.

Let that dry. Use your glue gun to attach eyes.

Use the sharpie pen to draw scars on Frankie’s face. Draw a mouth.

After looking at Frankie, I wasn’t happy with it. I decided that there were two things wrong. First, the eyes were too far apart. I pulled one off and glued it back on closer to the other eye.

Then, I decided the black for his hair was too small and thin. So, I painted on more hair.

Ahh . . . Frankie looked better. Much better.

Now, let me explain why you want a thin-ish coat of paint.

If you want to use your Frankie jar as a votive, the light will shine through better.

Also, I think that a thin coat adds to the overall effect.

If you want, you could fill this jar with Halloween candy for your family Halloween party. That’s what I did with my jar.

Editor’s Note: You might also keep an eye out for a small round vase that came with a floral bouquet and recycle it. I can never throw them away.
