Easy School Friends Book
Have fun making an Easy School Friends Book that all of your friends will want to be the first to sign. It’s a great way for kids to get to know their classmates. Make sure they invite everyone to sign and tell a little about themselves.
Trivia: High school was not really a part of school until the 1930s. Before that most Americans only completed eight years of school.
Supplies
Alphabet stencil
Rubber band
Black marker
Ruler
Pencil
Scissors
Glue
Instructions
Cut the following pieces:
Two, 6” x 6” squares of red paper
Two, 7” x 1-1/2” pieces of yellow paper
6” x 2½” piece of blue paper (use paper edgers along one 6” edge)
Enough 6” x 6” pieces of white paper for all your friends
Use the alphabet stencil and black marker to letter the words, “School Friends” on the yellow strips of paper. Glue the strips at an angle across one piece of red paper. Then trim so that the ends are even with the edges.
Ask your friends to write their name and glue a small school photo of themselves on one side of a white sheet of paper. They can also add a personal note to you, or any other information you would like to have.
Note:You may need to make the blue strip wider and use a larger rubber band if you have lots of pages for your book.

How do you tie the rubber band in this book.
I tried to find the craft on the contributor’s site but it seems to have been removed. It looks to me like they punched 2 or 3 holes in the paper and threaded the rubber band through the hole and inserted a pencil in the loop on the front and another at the back. I think you would need cardboard for the front and back page to keep the paper from tearing. Hope this helps.
