Sugar Skulls Coloring Pages

Sugar skulls are created for the Mexican tradition of Día de Muertos or Day of the Dead which falls on the day after Halloween to honor those who have died. In some American churches it is called All Saints Day. The coloring pages below offer some fun images to color (usually with bright colors) as well as a blank skull for you to create your own pattern. In Mexico these skulls are usually formed out of sugar or clay.

Trivia:

Some Mexican families believe that the gates of heaven are opened at midnight on October 31, and the spirits of all deceased children (angelitos) are allowed to reunite with their families for 24 hours.
