Australia Day is just around the corner on January 26th. Celebrate by making a Koala. This very cute little guy is a simple model to fold and makes a perfect project for beginners who are looking to push themselves just a little.


Supplies

Grey Paper

Black Marker

Wiggle eyes (optional)

Scissors

Instructions

With colored side down, fold your square in half on the diagonal.

 

Fold one of the top points down to the bottom, as shown below.

 

Now fold the other side down.

 

Begin to form your koala’s ears by folding one of the flaps up and out at an angle, as shown.

 

Now fold the other flap out too. Crease well.

 

Blunt the ears by folding down the ends.

 

Shape the head by folding the top corner of your model down until it is level with the ears.

 

Finally, finish shaping the head by turning the bottom up on one side as shown and then bringing the other side up to form the chin.

 

Flip the model over, and add features,using ours for inspiration.
