Print This Craft

Recycled Stamping Crafts are a great way to give items a second life that might otherwise end up in our waterways. Be aware of the potential your picnic trash may have as a recycled stamping tool and always clean up behind you wherever you go to eat outdoors.

Supplies

• Newspaper
• Paper Plate
• School Paint
• Paintbrush
• Miscellaneous recycled materials such as jar lids, bottle caps, etc.
• Crayons, Markers or Colored Pencils (optional)

Instructions

1. Spread newspaper to protect your work surface.
2. Print out at least one copy of the project picture printable below for each child in black and white or color.
3. Put a small quantity of various paints on paper plates
4. Have each child take their choice of recycled material and dip it into one or more paints and have them place it on the stem provided to make a flower. We used a jar lid and a plastic spool for our picture. If they are using the black and white version, they can paint the leaves with the paintbrush.

Once they have experimented with this picture, let them create their own original picture using different types of recycled stamping items.
