VBS Wanted Poster

If you are doing the Western themed VBS projects this year, this VBS Wanted Poster is the perfect way for the kids to start the session where they learn that Jesus wants each and every one of them. It is also a good project for a Sunday School to show each participant that they know Jesus wants everyone to love him as he loves them.

Trivia:

The first Bible school enrolled forty students and lasted four weeks. A local school was used for classes, while an adjoining park was used for recess. The origins of Vacation Bible School can be traced back to Hopedale, Illinois in 1894 to Sunday school teacher D. T. Miles, who also was a public school teacher.

Instructions

1. Print the template below on construction paper

2. Ask kids to bring a photo: Prior to the event, inform the kids and their parents that they should bring a photo of themselves. Explain that the photo will be used for the VBS Wanted Poster activity. Encourage them to bring the photos to the event.

3. Provide alternatives for those without photos: Understand that some kids may forget or be unable to bring a photo. To accommodate this, have a camera and printer on hand at the event. Set up a designated area as a photo booth if possible. Take pictures of the kids without photos and print them out immediately.

4. Trim and glue the photos: Once you have the photos, trim them to fit the designated photo area on the VBS Wanted Poster frame. Apply glue or adhesive to the back of each photo and carefully stick them into place on the frame. Ensure that the photos are securely attached.

5. Display the posters: Once the VBS Wanted Posters are complete, display them in a prominent area during Vacation Bible School. Consider creating a dedicated bulletin board or wall space to showcase the posters.

6. Distribute the posters: At the end of Vacation Bible School, allow the kids to take their respective posters home. Encourage them to proudly display their posters on their fridges or bulletin boards as a keepsake from the event.

Remember, if you choose to set up a photo booth, make sure you have the necessary equipment, such as a camera and printer, to capture and print the photos on the spot.
