How To Make A Santa Wreath

The kids will love to see this Santa Wreath hanging on the door. It’s a fun craft to make and can be used year after year. It is easy and can be accomplished in one craft session whether you are working with a group or just one family member. So get crafting and enjoy the season.

The first instance of wreaths in use can be traced back to the Persian Empire, ancient Egypt, and ancient Greece. However, these cultures didn’t use them to decorate doors and walls; they used them as headdresses. Wearing a laurel wreath was a symbol of power, authority, honour, or victory. Supplies

Small White Washcloths
Embroidery Hoop or Wire Clothes Hanger
Large Wiggle Eyes
White Pipe Cleaner
Hot Glue Gun
Cotton Balls
Red Felt or Foam
Red Pipe Cleaner

Instructions

Cut washcloths into strips 1/2 inch wide. Tie with a half hitch knot onto the embroidery hoop to form the beard and hair.
Print the pattern and cut hat out of red felt or foam. Place pins holding the pattern inside the hat area. This will keep the pattern stable until you finish cutting.
Glue to the top of the embroidery frame overlapping Santa’s hair.
Glue cotton balls to form brim and tassel on Santa’s hat.
Cut white pipe cleaner in two lengths that will allow the wiggle eyes to hang just below the end of Santa’s hair. Glue Wiggle eyes to end of each pipe cleaner. Glue a piece of pipe cleaner horizontally to the ends of each pipe cleaner to give the eyes stability.
Glue to the back of the embroidery hoop just below Santa’s hat.

Form a loop out of the red pipe cleaner so you can hang your Santa Wreath from a door knob or hook.
