![]() This craft reprinted courtesy of Robert Sabuda.
Everybody enjoys Robert Sabuda's pop up books, now he shows you how to make your own pop ups to enjoy or give as a card to someone special. Supplies Cardstock or heavy paper Scissors Ruler Paper Clip or dried up ball point pen Willing hands Click here for printables Instructions Print out the patterns found under printables on a heavy paper, like card stock or construction paper.
Lay the card that has the outline of the tree on a flat surface.
Cut the card out carefully following the solid, black lines around the edges.
Begin to fold the card in half, keeping the outline of the tree on the OUTSIDE so you can always see it.
Fold the first segment at the top to the tree back against the card, along the dotted line, and crease with your thumb or finger.
If you turn the card over, and check the photos below to see how it should look. Repeat the process and when you have done all five segments the card will look like the photo below.
Fold the backing card in half with the dotted line on the INSIDE. Set this card aside.
Take the backing card, with the dotted line facing down, and carefully position it on top of the Christmas tree card. Take your time, making sure the edges of both cards match up.
