Who doesn’t like peeling rubber cement off of things. Rubber Cement Easter Eggs are just one more fun variation on the traditional way for the kids to prepare their colorful eggs for the Easter basket.

Trivia:

Some theorists have traced Easter egg hunts back to the Pennsylvania Dutch of the 1700s who believed that a hare called ‘Oschter Haws’ laid eggs in the grass. Therefore, kids would build nests (which many symbolize today with the fake green “grass” that is placed at the bottom of the Easter basket) and search for the eggs. Supplies

• Hard Boiled Eggs
• Food Coloring
• White Vinegar
• Spoon
• Rubber Cement

Instructions

1. Drizzle rubber cement over eggs. Let dry.
2. Turn over and drizzle to the other side. Let dry.
3. Add three tablespoons of vinegar to 1/2 cup of water in a ceramic mug or bowl. Add several drops of food color and stir.
4. Use a spoon to lower eggs into color mixture. Remove when desired color is reached. Let dry.
5. Drizzle rubber cement over eggs again. Let dry. Turn over and drizzle to the other side. Let dry.
6. Set down into a different color. Remove when you like the results. Let dry.
7. Gently roll the cement off the eggs.
