Fall Classroom Tree Craft

Construction paper tree with fall colored leaves

This Fall Classroom Tree is a project that the kids can all participate with. If you have more children than this size tree can hold, just create a bigger and taller trunk to accommodate the size of the class. Kids will love seeing their names and those of their classmates all hanging together on the tree. If you are remote learning, creating a tree with your zoom classmates is a fun way to stay connected during this challenging time.

Trivia:

In the fall, because of changes in the length of daylight and changes in temperature, the leaves stop their food-making process. The chlorophyll breaks down, the green color disappears, and the yellow to orange colors become visible and give the leaves part of their fall splendor.

Supplies
  • Card Stock
  • Construction Paper (Fall Colors)
  • Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Black Marker
Instructions
  1. Print out your tree on white card stock.
  2.  Print leaves on the fall colored construction Paper for the children to cut out. Give each a section of the page with one leaf on it.Teachers: If you are cutting out the leaves, I suggest that you cut out a pattern sheet on white paper and cut out 3 or 4 sheets at one time. Just staple the pattern over the four stacked sheets including in the middle of the page but not inside the leaf pattern. This will keep your pattern stable while you cut.
  3.  Have each child write his/her name on their leaf. If remote learning write each zoom partner’s name on a leaf.
  4.  Then put a small dab of glue on the bottom end of the leaf and “hang” on the tree. When your tree is complete hang it on the bulletin board or fridge for all to admire.
