DIY Knight's Armor

Whether playing with their imagination or enjoying a themed birthday party this Knight’s Armor will provide hours of fun for boys and girls alike. It’s also a great prop for plays.

Supplies

3 Sheets 9″ X 12″ Black Foam
1 Sheet 9″ X 12″ Grey Foam
4 OZ Iridescent Glitter Glue
4 OZ Gold Spray glitter
Black ultra fine glitter
3/4″ Gold paper fasteners
White card stock
5mm Purple rhinestones
Black, gold metallic, silver metallic acrylic paints
Small sea sponge
#10 Flat brush
Tacky glue

Instructions

Print out patterns.

Cut two 2″ x 12″ strips out of one piece of black foam. Cut neck opening out of one short end of 9″ x 12″ piece of black foam using pattern. This is the breastplate. Sponge black, gold and silver paint onto cut foam pieces. Spray with gold glitter.

Cut two 2″ circles from black foam and paid gold. Cut two 1″ circles from black foam.

Cut shield from fray foam using pattern. Print dragon. Cut out and paste onto shield. Apply black glitter glue to dragon. While still wet, sprinkle with black glitter. Shake off excess and let dry.

Attach shield to breastplate using four paper fasteners.

Push one paper fastener through one black foam circle, one painted foam circle, one end of foam strap and top of breastplate. Using another paper fastener, attach strap to remaining black foam sheet.

Repeat step five to attach the other strap. See photo for placement.
