Make extra noise with this New Years Eve Pot Banger! Noise makers don’t have to be elaborate so bang your pots with a special spoon you’ve decorated just for the night. Make extras, they’re sure to be a favorite with all the young revelers.

The winter solstice was thought to occur on December 25. So, the New Year started on the 1st of the next month, January. The Romans consecrated this day to Janus, exchanging good wishes and gift of sweet figs and honey in Janus’ honor. Supplies

• Wooden Spoon
• Silver Paint and Brush
• Blue Curling Ribbon
• 3/4″ Jingle Bells
• Scissors
• Glue

Instructions

1. Paint spoon. Let dry.
2. Tie a piece of curling ribbon around the handle of the spoon, gluing in place.
3. String on three jingle bells. Tie with a double knot.
4. Curl ribbon with scissors, tying on additional pieces if desired.
